What we did

Project Scope

Biogas Products Ltd were contracted to supply and install 2no 1500m3 PVC membrane gas holders to replace existing gas holders on a Yorkshire Water site, Hull WwTW.

Working for main contractor JN Bentley, the installation was part of a £80m upgrade of the site.

Design Requirement

2no ¾ sphere PVC double membrane gas holders with a total capacity of 3000m3 working in parallel at a pressure of 18mbar.

Products and Services

The membrane gas holders are complete with common duty/standby air blowers, a common air pressure control valve which equalises the pressure in each gas holder, laser type gas holder level sensors, gas leak detection, viewing windows and an access door. All installed and commissioned by our own site installation team.

Outcome

The gas holders provide storage and a gas pressure in all operating conditions to maintain a sufficient supply to the CHP gas boosters.
